Data Deletion

You can delete your CommentDM data yourself at any time. There are two ways, depending on how you want to do it.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

  1. Sign in to your CommentDM dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Connected accounts and disconnect each Instagram account. This immediately deletes the encrypted access tokens for that account.
  3. Go to Settings → Workspace and choose Delete workspace. This permanently deletes your automations, comment and DM logs, and connected accounts.

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. If you only want to stop automations temporarily, pause them instead of deleting the workspace.

Option 2 — Remove the app via Meta

If you connected Instagram through Facebook Login, you can remove CommentDM from your Facebook account:

  1. Open Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites.
  2. Find CommentDM and choose Remove.

Meta then sends our servers a signed data-deletion request. We verify the signature, locate your account, and delete all linked workspaces — connections, automations, logs and tokens — automatically. Meta shows you a confirmation code we return for the deletion.

Technical detail: our deletion callback lives at https://webital.cloud/api/data-deletion/callback, as required by Meta's app review process.

What gets deleted — and what doesn't

  • Deleted: Instagram access tokens, connected accounts, automations, keyword rules, comment and DM logs, workspace settings.
  • Retained: billing records (plan history and invoices) for as long as tax and company law require, and minimal security logs needed to prevent fraud. These contain no Instagram tokens or message content.
